ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm Michaela Scott, a rising senior at Virginia Tech majoring in multimedia journalism with a minor in professional sales. I’m passionate about blending strong communication with strategic selling to drive impact and build meaningful connections.
In my free time, you’ll find me hiking around the New River Valley, taking long walks with my dog Ziggy, or indulging in my all-time favorite food — grilled cheese. I love meeting new people, telling great stories, and making a positive impact wherever I go.
I’ve interned with ABC7’s Good Morning Washington, GovCIO Media & Research, and Boulevard Media Magazine, gaining experience in content strategy, storytelling, and brand messaging. I also studied abroad in Switzerland and Tanzania, exploring how marketing drives social change across cultures.
This summer, I’ll be joining Cvent as a sales intern, where I’m excited to grow in the tech industry and take on high-impact, client-facing projects. I’ll also serve as a sales associate at Sun Tan City and a H.U.G. Leader mentoring first-year students this fall.
At Virginia Tech, I’m the incoming editor-in-chief of the Collegiate Times, a part-time manager at Rita’s Italian Ice, and an active member of Delta Gamma, Sales Club, and the Aspiring Journalists Organization.
