ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Michaela Scott — a rising senior at Virginia Tech majoring in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in Professional Sales. I’m passionate about combining the art of storytelling with the strategy of selling to drive results, build authentic relationships, and create value in every interaction.
This summer, I joined Cvent as a Sales Intern, where I rotated through Enterprise, Account Management and Commercial sales teams. I gained hands-on experience in B2B SaaS sales through outbound prospecting, SPIN selling, and cross-functional projects with Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams. I ranked as a top performer in live mock demos and discovery calls, and helped pitch real enhancements to Cvent’s platform through competitive research and storytelling.
My background in journalism — including internships with ABC7's Good Morning Washington, GovCIO Media & Research, and Boulevard Media Magazine — has shaped my ability to ask great questions, connect with diverse audiences, and deliver compelling messaging. I also studied abroad in Switzerland and Tanzania, exploring how marketing drives social change across global cultures.
At Virginia Tech, I serve as Editor-in-Chief of the Collegiate Times, a H.U.G. Leader mentoring first-year students, and a VT Sales Club member preparing for a future in tech sales.
You can also find me managing Rita’s Italian Ice, hiking with my dog Ziggy, or on the hunt for the best grilled cheese in town.
I thrive in fast-paced, people-driven environments—and I’m always looking for the next opportunity to learn, grow, and make an impact.
